| SOCIAL-PROGRESSIVE "CHRISTIANITY" |
| The lexicon and nomenclature of Christianity are undergoing significant changes as more than just a few ministries' veer to the left-of-center, and further away from right-side Christianity. As the thirtysomething generation begins to gray, the oncoming twentysomething (X Generation), closely followed by the Me generation, are flocking to poly-religious gatherings and Gaia-(earth) centered nuevo-churches. Word-centered churches are being inundated, in many respects, by World-issues driven gospels. |
| The emerging social-progressive doctrine cannot allow the Christian gospel to remain. The Christian doctrine of a Christ-centered, blood-bought, born again, spirit-filled, sin-repentant, servant-discipleship focused Church is antagonistic to religious social-progressivism. The mere term suggests religious issues be dwelt with through social systems which are ever changing and seeking perfection through experiential endeavors (works). We read in the New Testament that many false prophets, teachers, preachers, and gospels will be advanced during the endtimes. We are in those prophetic endtimes. |
| It might be helpful to review two earlier Amen Ministries Commentaries, Emergent Ecumenism(1) and Evangelical vs. Ecumenical(2), both have direct bearing on the social-progressive religious movement. Historically, it takes decades for religious movements to become denominations. The social-progressive wave is rapidly evolving and thus comes across as more process orientated than content specific. |
| Parallels between social-progressive ministry outreach and traditional political-type problem solving stratagems, are easily identifiable. The social-progressive is more about "doing" then "being". Works trump beliefs and can substitute for faith in the social-progressive apologia rationale. |
| Moral Relativism and situational Justice underlie the operative tenants of left-wing "Christianity". Religious social-progressivism, the emergent church, and left-side "Christianity" are blending to bring forth a endtime liberalized gospel.(3) and Dominion Now theology. The liberal political-left has gone so far, in the run-up for 2008 POTUS, to advance beyond Dominion Now to Global Dominion Tomorrow. Such nefarious rhetoric is a presage, for the deceptive global unity, to be foisted by the coming antichrist. |
| Unity among World Governments (UN-type), Universal Ecumenism (religious), and Global Integration Theory (monetary and military) will attempt to coalesce and homogenize political/military/economic/religious strongholds into a unified international oversight authority. The leadership to accomplish such an undertaking will require supernatural/paranormal powers and a willingness, from various international leaders, to join such a fanciful hegemony. |
| Almost immediately following the first nuclear exchange, or preemptive nuclear strike, global powers will rush to the fore to assemble an international coalition of nuclearized states, in an attempt, to bring collective might against willful and irresponsible geopolitical factions. Nuclear terrorism will have all but undone itself by forcing disparate powers to unit for common defense and mutual retaliatory response. It will be at these times when forerunners(4) of the great endtime deceiver will be clearly and perceptibly known. |
| Social-progressive "Christianity" is in its intermediate stage of evolution as it prepares to enter the forthcoming Universal Ecumenism (where religions worship a 'ubiquitous god', 'unity' trumps any particular "Faith", and the common-good outweighs any absolutes of Truth). The clamor of left-wing modernity and social-progressivism is to embrace the now, worship the creation, and let relativism determine the good and bad. Romans 1:25 is now in full play.(5) The church of Laodicea is alive and well.(6) |
| The Pied Pipers(7) of the liberal gospel and religious social-progressivism are already stepping onto the international stage along with endtime political strongmen. Strange bedfellows, not really, for they were prefigured in biblical text, as endtime eschatology unfolds right before our very eyes. C. Dickens once said, we live in the worst and best of times ... and we may see the worst overtake the best in this generation UNTIL the great Blessed Hope (Christ) comes for His Church, and a short while later to end the Tribulation Period. |
| This is not a doomsday scenario as such, but a recitation of biblical events to come just over the near-far horizon. Social-progressive and left-side "Christianity", liberal and NewAge gospels are the rattles on the serpent's tail. Know the rattlin' sound for, even today, the elect(9) could be as easily deceived as were Adam and Eve, in the Garden. |
