FRANCE — French market research institute BVA’s work with the French tax administration on a nudge strategy to encourage taxpayers to use online institutional services has led to a 10% increase in online tax returns, according to the company.
The French Secretariat-General for Government Modernisation (SGMAP) engaged the BVA Nudge Unit to help identify nudges to encourage French taxpayers to “adopt digital habits”, such as online tax payment.
This ‘nudge’ approach during the 2014 campaign reportedly generated a 10% increase in online tax returns and doubled adoption growth rate versus the same 2013 period. This reportedly saved 400 tons of paper.
